'Chicago Med' Alum Torrey DeVitto Confirms Engagement With Loved-Up Photos
Chicago Med alum Torrey DeVitto is engaged—and she’s finally giving fans a peek at her engagement ring.
The actress shared a few photos from the major life event, including one shot where she cozied up to her new fiancé Jared LaPine as she held his arm, her new piece of jewelry on full display.
“Earlier this month at 5 pm on a weekday while walking the back trails at the farm, still in my PJs and goat boots, he got down on one knee, in what I hoped wasn’t poison ivy, and asked for forever. My answer was obvious. ????” she wrote in the caption.
Those photos were also included as DeVitto rocked biker shorts, a Saugatuck, Michigan sweatshirt, and rain boots during a walk through a scenic forest.
One snap captured her genuine reaction—an overjoyed smile—as another was taken moments after, as Alpine gave his new fiancée a kiss on the cheek while she beamed at the camera with her hand propped up on her cheek, once again flashing her emerald-cut bling.
Congratulations began pouring into the feed, with one fan noting, “torrey!!! congratulations!! your smile tells it all ?? here’s to finding your forever together ??,” while her former co-star, Marie Tredway, who appeared as Trinidad "Trini" Campos in the series, wrote, “Still screaming like my voice message ??Love you so much, friend! ??????.”
“My forever person," Alpine also commented.

Someone else joked about her on-screen love interest Will Halstead, portrayed by Nick Gehlfuss, noting, “Congratulations??????. Guess it didn't work out with Will Halstead ?? just joking. ??.”
US Weekly initially confirmed the engagement earlier this month, reporting that LaPine popped the question over Labor Day weekend.
At the time, the 39-year-old shared a simple black-and-white photo of the couple captioning it with a heart emoji.
The duo—who met through DeVitto's cousin and have been dating for six months—thoroughly enjoyed their summer together, most recently traveling all over Spain and documenting the experience on Instagram.
“Madrid ? San Sebastián ? Barcelona ?? The food ? The people ? The sights ?? Til next time,” she captioned the photos.
DeVitto—who appeared on six seasons of NBC’s medical drama as Dr. Natalie Manning before her exit in May 2021, with acting credits also including One Tree Hill, The Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars—was previously married to TVD star Paul Wesley. They divorced in 2013. She was also linked to Cubs manager and former player, David Ross, also known as Grandpa Ross. The couple seemingly broke up sometime in 2022.
