Many Chick-fil-A fans are hoping that the fast food chain’s three latest creations will test well enough to justify a nationwide menu addition.
Chick-fil-A is calling the creations in question the Pretzel Cheddar Club Sandwiches. The meals will give chicken sandwiches a pretzel bun spin and will be available in three variations: grilled, classic and spicy.
Each sandwich will feature a boneless chicken breast placed on a toasted and cross-cut pretzel-style bun. The sandwiches will also have lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese and applewood smoked bacon, according to a Thurs., April 4 press release. Each meal will come with a side of creamy Dijon mustard sauce.
For now, the new sandwiches are still in the testing phase. They will be available starting on April 8 for customers at participating Chick-fil-A restaurants in Raleigh, N.C., until supplies run out. The fast food chain noted in its press release that it “regularly utilizes feedback from culinary tests” in making decisions about whether to bring new menu items out of the testing kitchen and onto menus nationwide.
Fans certainly seem to be hoping that Chick-fil-A will decide to expand availability for the new Pretzel Cheddar Club Sandwiches. After food blogger Snackolator announced the new sandwiches on Instagram, several people left comments urging Chick-fil-A to make their decision quickly.
“That looks soo good,” one fan wrote. “Hoping it makes it nationwide!”
“Yummm hope that rolls out everywhere!” a second Instagram user agreed, as another echoed the wish, writing, “I hope it goes nationwide.”
Though there were some detractors—"Pretzel buns do absolutely nothing for your sandwich,” one person wrote—most people seemed excited about the new sandwich option. Some people who lived somewhat close to Raleigh even wrote that they were considering making the drive just to test it out.
Chick-fil-A also announced this week that its line of Cherry Berry beverages will soon be available at locations across the country. The Cherry Berry drinks will be available in lemonade, iced tea, frosted lemonade and Sunjoy forms starting on April 8.
