Chick-fil-A Just Dropped Its First-Ever Digital Cookbook—Here's How to Get It for Free

Fans of Chick-fil-A just caught a huge win ahead of the holiday season. On October 16, the popular fast food chain released its first ever digital cookbook, Extra Helpings: Inspiring Stories and Inventive Recipes from Chick-fil-A Shared Table. Now, no matter which day of the week it is, you can enjoy the sweet taste of your favorite Chick-fil-A flavors through inventive recipes that are all available online for free.
Extra Helpings features 26 recipes that were inspired by Chick-fil-A Shared Table, a food donation program that was founded back in 2012. The program encourages Chick-fil-A restaurant locations to donate their surplus food to local non-profit organizations. Senior centers, soup kitchens and after-school programs then repurpose the food into tasty hot meals similar to those found in Extra Helpings.

According to a press release posted on the site, the cookbook was created in an effort to “raise awareness about combating food insecurity and reducing food waste,” Chick-fil-A CEO Andrew T. Cathy stated. “Perhaps you’ll find a recipe you can use at home with some Chick-fil-A leftovers or extra items in your refrigerator."
Featuring everything from Chicken Enchiladas and Breaded Chicken Fajitas to Apple Cobbler and an intriguing Waffle Potato Fry Frittata, Extra Helpings might have just reinvented how we approach leftovers. The e-cookbook even features the fan-favorite Chick-fil-A Chicken Salad, which the fast food chain stopped serving back in 2017.

In a hefty $1 million total donation to support the fight against food insecurity, Chick-fil-A has also pledged $150,000 to both Feeding America and Second Harvest, in addition to the $100,000 being donated to each of its seven Chick-fil-A Shared Table nonprofit partners.
The fast-food giant has a long history of doing things the right way. And these efforts support their corporate social responsibility goal to provide 200 million meals to their communities by 2025.
Through donations, Chick-fil-A Shared Table program has served over 23 million meals in 47 states across the country. Nearly 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants participate in the program and the number is continuing to grow as their efforts continue. You’ve got to love the idea that those cows up there on the billboards, convincing us to “eat mor chikin,” also have a soft spot for our well being.
