Chick-fil-A Rolls Out Test Menu With 6 Different Pizza Options

Fans of Chick-fil-A will be excited to learn that the fast food restaurant is testing out a few new pizza recipes, though access to the pies will, for now, be extremely limited.
Chick-fil-A announced its plans to begin testing the new dishes in a March 14 press release. The brand is experimenting with five 11-inch pizzas and one similar menu item called the Pepperoni Pizza ‘Round, which it compares to a calzone.
While the test menu includes Chick-fil-A’s version of simple cheese and pepperoni pizzas (appropriately called the Cheese Pizza Pie and the Pepperoni Pizza Pie), the fast food chain is also experimenting with a Chick-fil-A Pizza Pie. The fast food chain says this new test menu item embodies the “classic Chick-fil-A experience,” with mozzarella, pickles and the brand’s Nuggets and Sauce.

The new Buff-lo-Ranch Pizza Pie will also include Chick-fil-A Nuggets and mozzarella combined with buffalo sauce, ranch dressing and lemon pepper seasoning, while the Meats-n-Veg Pizza Pie will feature pepperoni, sausage, chorizo, meatballs, mushrooms and red bell peppers sprinkled over a pie with tomato sauce and mozzarella.
Meanwhile, the calzone-like menu item will be filled with tomato sauce, mozzarella and pepperoni, ingredients that Chick-fil-A says will be “baked to the perfect golden-brown crisp.”
Stuart Tracy, the senior culinary lead developer at Chick-fil-A, explained how the idea to create new pizza recipes came about in the March 14 press release.
"We've noticed our customers getting creative with Chick-fil-A ingredients on pizzas at home, so, we've decided to jump on board,” Tracy said. “Your taste buds already know the flavors, so it’s love before first bite.”
For now, the new pizzas will only be available at the chain’s Little Blue Menu test kitchen in College Park, Md. The pizzas were officially unveiled for customers to begin trying on March 18.
When asked on social media how long the pizzas will be available at the College Park location, Little Blue Menu said they are “currently a permanent menu item” but acknowledged that the test kitchen remains “focused on innovation and creating a culinary experience” for customers.
“Because of this, our menu is ever evolving,” Little Blue Menu wrote in a comment on its March 14 Instagram post announcing the test menu additions.
