Chiefs Fans Rush to Patrick Mahomes’ Defense After Video Shows Raiders Players Mocking Him at Training Camp
Kansas City Chiefs fans are less than pleased with the Las Vegas Raiders after a video surfaced of the rival team mocking star quarterback Patrick Mahomes during their pre-season training camp.
The only identifiable Raiders player in the clip was number 37, safety Trey Taylor, who pulled a Kermit the Frog puppet, dressed in Mahomes' jersey and with a curly-haired wig, over his right fist, but there were multiple other voices heard off-camera laughing and narrating for it.
The clip in question originated with a Raiders fan and writer who goes by the X handle @RaidersAQ. While it's since been deleted from that account, plenty of others have reuploaded it, including former Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, and it's clear that the red kingdom won't forget.
The Raiders have a Patrick Mahomes Kermit the Frog puppet at training camp?
The man is 10-2 against the Raiders, Chiefs have won 8 straight AFC West titles and they just guaranteed themselves an ass whopping they won’t forget. @PatrickMahomes

"The man is 10-2 against the Raiders, Chiefs have won 8 straight AFC West titles and they just guaranteed themselves an ass whopping they won’t forget," Griffin wrote on the social media platform, while NFL staff writer Matt Verderame agreed, "Imagine doing this when Patrick Mahomes has won more playoff games in Las Vegas than the Raiders."
"I love when they do this... It just fuels the monster... These guys don't learn!" another fan wrote, while someone else recalled the consequences of the Raiders "[thinking] it would be cool to stomp on our logo"—a 48-9 loss. The Raiders are simply "tempting that threepeat," as a third wrote, with plenty of others sharing the video with strong thoughts about the team.
Kermit is 10-2 against these guys and has won 8 consecutive AFC West titles! Not a good look if you’re a Raider… https://t.co/NKhrf9ROYN

"lmao they gone regret this," tweeted another, while another affirmed, "This is not going to age well for them…."
RaidersAQ later clarified that the puppet was brought to practice by a fan in attendance and that, while it "was good fun," he removed the video due to the upset and messaged Taylor directly to apologize.
"It’s just such a tired joke," another fan clapped back in response. "Get new material."
