With the arrival of Chip and Joanna Gaines' fifth child (a baby boy due this summer), the couple is gearing up for another big change in their Waco farmhouse: a new nursery.

The husband-and-wife team behind Fixer Upper and Magnolia Table are putting all of their design and rehab skills to good use in their effort to create the nursery of Joanna's dreams.

"Jo has had a ball working on the nursery," Chip tells CountryLiving.com. "It’s been eight years since we’ve done a nursery for ourselves, and she’s really been having fun with picking out details like colors and bedding and the crib."

Before they began decorating the room, Chip had to do some quick cosmetic updates. "A fresh coat of paint was first on the to-do list and that really does make all the difference," he says. Now they're working on filling it with everything new parents need, including some extra additions.

"Jo is still trying to decide if she wants to hang some of her wallpaper on the walls and what kind of rocker she wants," Chip says. "We’re still right in the middle of it all, but I have no doubt that when Jo gets finished with it, it’ll be the most beautiful room in the whole house.”

If Joanna keeps the room consistent with the rest of the rooms in their 120-year-old farmhouse, expect shiplap, plenty of neutrals, and rustic finishes.

In her boys' room, Joanna created one-of-a-kind bunkbeds for Drake and Duke, styling them with a rustic "adventure" sign out of marquee letters. We have a feeling the designer will create something just as special in her new baby boy's space, or perhaps even take a cue from one of the nurseries she created on Fixer Upper.

And with the possibility of growing their family even more (something the couple recently revealed they are both open to), this nursery might be used yet again in the coming years.
