Chip and Joanna Gaines Quietly Made a Big Change to Their Network and No One Noticed

Chip and Joanna Gaines are taking us on one crazy roller coaster ride.

First, we had to deal with the grim reality of a world without Fixer Upper. But everything got better when Chip and Jo announced their new Magnolia TV network last year. That’s still happening (they’ve even started working on their first series), but the bad news is we’re going to have to wait just a little longer than originally expected for its debut.

Joanna shared a few details of the network back in April, and revealed that it was planned to premiere in summer 2020. “Whether it’s design & renovation, cooking, gardening, wellness, community, entrepreneurialism or relationships-our hope is when you come to our network it feels like home,” she wrote.

But when the HGTV stars issued a release about the first show for the upcoming channel, the timeline changed. It read that the new series, Home on the Road, “will premiere as part of the network’s initial slate of programming set to launch in October 2020.”

That’s a whole year from now!

It’s perfectly understandable why this might happen. Chip and Jo never release anything that’s subpar, so it makes sense that they need a few more months to ensure everything is Gaines-approved. Plus, it’s not just Fixer Upper—they have a ton of programming they’re involved with, not to mention their side hustles like their Magnolia Market expansion, coffee shop, hotel, etc.

Though waiting is the worst, we know that when Magnolia enters the world it’s going to be amazing. Maybe even better than Fixer Upper?
