At Long last, This Is What Chip and Joanna Gaines Named Their Baby Boy
The newest member of Chip and Joanna Gaines' family officially has a name! Joanna announce on Instagram that the newest member of their clan is named Crew.
"Our baby boy, Crew Gaines, is here and we couldn’t be more in love," Joanna wrote on Instagram. "He made an unexpected (and speedy) entrance into the world two and a half weeks early - which is fitting given he was a sweet surprise from day one. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful."
Crew joins four siblings: big brothers Drake and Duke and big sisters Ella Rose and Emmie Kay.
Up until now, the couple had a tradition of selecting of selecting single-syllable D-names for boys, dual-syllable E-names for girls, so Crew is certainly a break from tradition.
As of April, the HGTV hosts were still trying to decide what to call their son.
"I want a C name, he wants a D name," a pregnant Joanna said in an appearance on the Today show. "I say he got the boy, so I get to pick the name."
"I’m hoping for a D, she's wanting to change the pace," Chip added.
Ever since Chip and Joanna first announced they were expecting their fifth child back in January, Fixer Upper fans have been waiting (not so patiently) for the baby boy to arrive. While the rumored due date wasn't till mid-July, Baby Gaines came nearly full a month earlier, with Chip (now a father of five!) making the announcement on Twitter, the same platform on which he revealed the gender.
"And then there were 5," the star tweeted. "The Gaines crew is now 1 stronger! 10 beautiful toes and 10 beautiful fingers all accounted for, and big momma is doing great."
Congratulations to the happy parents, and welcome Baby Crew.
