Avengers: Endgame star Chris Hemsworth nabbed something even more precious than an infinity stone this week; a selfie with a quokka.

Hemsworth took the snap during a fleeting visit to Rottnest Island, Australia, with wife Elsa Pataky. Dubbing himself “Quokka Chris,” he urged his followers to get out to Rotto and see the quokkas for themselves.

Hemsworth even got close enough to feed one of the smiley little guys a piece of greenery from his own mouth, a feat that he joked took three weeks of “ crawling around the dirt, studying the Quokkas movements, mimicking their language” before he finally “gained their trust and was accepted as one of them.”

Physical interaction with quokkas is usually not allowed by nature reserve staff-nor is feeding-but it looks like an exception was made for the God of Thunder.

Quokkas, described by Hemsworth as “epic little creatures,” are native to Rottnest Island and a handful of other smaller islands off the coast of Western Australia. They’re incredibly friendly, with no fear of human beings, and have a reputation as being the happiest animals on the planet thanks to their smiley little faces.

Hemsworth is rumoured to be inking a deal with Tourism Australia, which might explain his and Pataky’s recent tour of the Western Australian coast, and his message from Rottnest to “get there and check it out!”

But Hemsworth isn’t the first celeb to take a selfie with a quokka. Actress and fellow Aussie Margot Robbie pipped him to the post more than a year ago:

Okay, now we want one.
