  • Todd Chrisley and his family live in Brentwood, a suburb of Nashville (also known as Music City, of course).

  • Todd is known for being a perfectionist and loving a moment in the spotlight, as often shown in his family's reality show, Chrisley Knows Best.

  • Todd recorded a song with a well-known country artist in 2016 and it was on the Billboard charts.

Only Nanny would join an a cappella group called Sexy Pitches. In season 8, episode 6 of Chrisley Knows Best, Faye (Todd Chrisley’s mother) does just that. The group is performing at the local library fundraiser, and Faye has promised the group that Todd will lend his voice to sing a duet with her. Faye has been bragging on Todd, who has legit recording artist cred. The problem is that she hasn’t asked Todd if he’ll join, and he is not on board.

Faye tells Chase (Todd’s son and her grandson) that the group is not going to take this news well. “I’m probably going to be knocked out of my featured spot that I had longed for,” she says. Poor Nanny! But together Faye and Chase devise a plan.

Fans agree that they make a power duo.

The plan is that Chase (who admits he has zero singing talent) will pretend he’s going to take Todd’s place, in hopes that his perfectionist dad will hear the pitiful (and we mean pitiful) rehearsal and swoop in and save the day. Genius, right?

Wrong. Despite Todd hearing Chase and Faye’s intentional butchering of his song “Infinite Love” that he recorded in 2016 with country music star Sara Evans, he's not caving. “Momma, I just want you to know that I’m on to you,” he says. “I know what y’all are trying to do.”

Todd confesses to his wife, Julie, that he’s going to make his mother sweat this one out. Meanwhile at the Sexy Pitches rehearsal, Chase and Nanny Faye completely bomb their duet in “When the Saints Go Marching In.” The leader looks less than pleased, to say the least.

After losing her “featured spot," Faye blames it all on Todd. Eventually, he agrees to sing with her so she can have her moment in the spotlight—but not without making sure his momma learned her lesson. “You know, setting boundaries with your parents, that’s hard,” Todd says, “and especially when you have one that will manipulate you like mine does, but I’m glad I was able to prove my point.”

Fans applauded Todd for saving the day.

“This makes my heart so big and I am so happy,” Faye says. “I could just picture me and you up there like Donny and Marie, Sonny and Cher, Kermit and Miss Piggy.” Todd and Faye—sure, why not?!
