Chrissy Teigen Called Out Her Rich Friends Who Keep Asking for Free Merch
Chrissy Teigen took to Instagram to let her famous friends know that she isn't obligated to send them free promotional packages from her Cravings by Chrissy Teigen cookware line.
"I see some of u asking and you're literally rich," wrote Teigen.
There are plenty of perks that come along with being a celebrity, but free cookware isn't necessarily one of them, according to Chrissy Teigen.
Per E! News, the model-turned-culinary sensation shared a friendly reminder with her famous friends via her Instagram Stories, explaining that she is not obligated to gift her every acquaintance free Cravings by Chrissy Teigen merchandise. Her comments came after a handful of celebrities—including members of the Kardashian–Jenner family, Rachel Zoe, and Shay Mitchell—took to Instagram to show off their gifted PR packages from Teigen's new Target line.
"Please don't ask for a box. My marketing budget is not infinite but my love for you is. Also I see some of u asking and you're literally rich," shared Teigen, regarding a recent influx of requests for Cravings freebies.
Teigen continued to explain that before starting her own line of merchandise, she wasn't aware of how much work went into overseeing the marketing list and how much it cost to send out promotional packages.
"Holy s--t, it's a ton of work," quipped Teigen in another Instagram message. "I will never, ever throw away or not thank somebody profusely for being sent one."
The Cravings cookbook author added that the message was solely meant for her famous friends wondering when their personal packages would be arriving—allowing Teigen to bluntly explain, they wouldn't be.
"[That note was] honestly just meant for my friends that are literally writing, saying, 'Uh mine hasn't gotten here yet.' That's 'cause I didn't send it to you," shared Teigen.
"We're tiny. We're small. I know it looks like everything is just easy, but I promise...you're gonna be ok. Maybe that comes from someone putting it in your head that we're just a content farm of endless money and just got so big so fast," commented Teigen, alluding to her recent public social media drama with food writer Alison Roman. "But I promise we didn't."
