Chrissy Teigen defends taking a lengthy family vacation
By our count, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have been hanging out in Bali for about three weeks now — and so long as the Lip Sync Battle co-host doesn’t run out of fresh “Headband of the Day” content, more power to them.
But Teigen felt obliged to defend herself after a fan raised the inevitable question: Just how long is this vacation going to last?

Though Teigen didn’t give an end date for her family’s Bali adventure, she did explain that her crew are “taking now to breathe” before work and — for 2-year-old Luna — school beckon.
I have an incredible amount of shit to do in September and October so we are taking now to breathe! Plus Luna has her first day of school soon 😩😩😩 https://t.co/P6C1En5nYv

Though the original poster later clarified that she wasn’t trying to shame Teigen for taking time off, the model’s loyal followers were quick to stick up for her. As many pointed out, Teigen gave birth to son Miles just three months ago and is more than entitled to a break.
WTF? She just made her second human! That takes work and rest. She is currently making enough food for said human to thrive. She is working.

You don't need to justify your vacation time.

Wait. What? You're taking time to be with your family? You mean like quality time before life keeps you all running around with its demands? And you're /enjoying/ it? Next thing you'll say is you're bonding with Miles & making memories with Luna. HOW DARE YOU, CHRISSY! 😂

Girl please! Why are you explaining yourself? You take all the time you can with John and the kids. Have fun together and make memories before it is back to work work work and school school school for Luna! Life is short and memories are forever… 😊

Europeans take month long holidays all the time! Why do people feel the need to criticize a family vacation? #smh I’ve been thoroughly enjoying you Bali adventure on instagram! Thank you for sharing with us! This is your family time and you didn’t have to!

Teigen’s not the only celebrity to get grief for booking a getaway. In June, Kelly Ripa was accused of taking too many vacations and shirking her work responsibilities. The talk show host’s response: “I’m not an anchor, I don’t have the whole summer off, and I work extremely hard. Anything else?”
