Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Weigh in on Becoming the First Family

From Harper's BAZAAR

  • Chrissy Teigen and John Legend sat down for an extensive joint interview for the latest issue of Vanity Fair.

  • During the interview, Teigen and Legend's friendship with the Obamas came up, prompting the interviewer to ask if they could ever see themselves living in the White House someday.

  • Teigen was skeptical that the American public would consider a first lady with her background in modeling, but Legend countered that the Trump presidency has "lowered standards for everything."

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are absolute couple goals. Their beautiful, perfect chemistry was on full display during a joint issue for the December 2019 issue of Vanity Fair.

The interview covered everything from their home life to their career goals and even touched on their friendship with another famous couple: Barack and Michelle Obama.

In fact, Legend revealed that during an Obama Foundation event in Oakland earlier this year, he and the former POTUS bonded over their shared experience of being married to truly incredible women.

"We joked about how much our wives are loved more than we are now," Legend said of his conversation with Obama.

Of course, touching on politics opened the door to talk about all things Donald Trump, who has publicly criticized both Teigen and Legend, and actually blocked Teigen on Twitter two years ago. That, in turn, led to a question about the possibility of Teigen and Legend moving their family to the White House someday.

"Uh, I did Sports Illustrated and covered my boobs with a leaf," Teigen said to dismiss the idea that she would be a part of the First Family.

Her husband didn't think that was a deal breaker though. "But hasn't Melania opened the door for anyone to be a First Lady?" Legend countered with a laugh. (The current FLOTUS is also a former model.) "The biggest issue about this presidency is how they've just lowered standards for everything. Hopefully we'll reset?"

Is too late to add Teigen/Legend 2020 to the ticket?
