Chrissy Teigen Live-Tweeted Her Flight From Hell
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend were on a flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo on Tuesday, but it turned into a flight from Los Angeles to... Los Angeles. That’s because their plane turned around four hours into the flight, when the crew discovered a passenger was on the wrong plane. The result ended up becoming a day-long ordeal, and naturally Chrissy live-tweeted the whole thing the entire time.
She started tweeting four hours into the flight, after the plane turned around because of an unauthorized passenger:
a flying first for me: 4 hours into an 11 hour flight and we are turning around because we have a passenger who isn’t supposed to be on this plane. Why...why do we all gotta go back, I do not know

So many questions and I have no answers. Either do they. This person must be mortified though
- christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) December 27, 2017
Though she said she didn’t know any details, her fans figured out her flight path, and it looked insane.
.@chrissyteigen is on an international flight that turned around 4 hours in because a passenger isn’t supposed to be on plane. Look at this flight path! This is my Twilight Zone. pic.twitter.com/II06VmfOah

Chrissy ended up spending around eight hours on her flight, only to end up exactly where she started. She mused about why everyone had to return to Los Angeles because of one passenger’s error. But at least she got a good story out of it.
Lmao after all this I will have spent 8 hours on a flight to nowhere. Like we were all just havin a great time up here flyin in the sky watching gran torino time to go home now
- christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) December 27, 2017
This person is so lucky that we will all have to deplane. Imagine having to walk off alone. The shame!
- christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) December 27, 2017
I don’t know why I’m not more upset about this. The pleasure I get out of the story is worth more to me than a direct flight to Tokyo
- christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) December 27, 2017
I won’t be able to sleep until I know how this person figured out they were on the wrong flight. That’s all I ask. 150 people have been majorly inconvenienced, please, just tell me
- christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) December 27, 2017
Why did we all get punished for this one person’s mistake? Why not just land in Tokyo and send the other person back? How is this the better idea, you ask? We all have the same questions.
- christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) December 27, 2017
They keep saying the person had a United ticket. We are on ANA. So basically the boarding pass scanner is just a beedoop machine that makes beedoop noises that register to nowhere

LAX -> LAX flight complete. Flight time, 8 hours and 20 minutes.
- christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) December 27, 2017
She and her fans posted lots of memes about the incident, as one does when there’s nothing else to do.

But Chrissy and her fellow passengers were still on the plane, and she said police were interviewing people who were sitting near the unauthorized passengers. In the meantime, she hung out with John Legend and a lucky fan who was sitting in their section. He even started a Twitter account just to post the photo.
There is a 20 minute interview before we can get off the plane!! This is my dream. Police! Talk to me talk to me

After a while, Chrissy was moved to a room that was airing The Real Housewives, so at least she got some entertainment on top of her real drama. Even Lisa Rinna checked in on her.
I have been moved to a room with Bravo. Clearly the authorities are trying to keep me quiet so I don’t BLOW THE LID OFF THIS “SITCH” pic.twitter.com/ohhpCmjviG

ANA, which stands for All Nippon Airlines, issued a statement about the incident to KABC-TV.
“During the flight, the cabin crew became aware that one of the passengers boarded the incorrect flight and notified the pilot. As part of the airline's security procedure, the pilot in command decided to return to the originating airport, where the passenger was disembarked. ANA is researching the situation currently to determine how the passenger boarded the flight. ANA would like to express its apologies to the passengers for the inconvenience. We take great pride providing exemplary customer service, and on this flight we failed to do so.”
