This MAGA hat-wearing woman wants an anti-abortion, pro-gun Disney princess — and Chrissy Teigen has concerns
Chrissy Teigen is facing off against a Trump supporter — and it’s all about Disney princesses.
It all started when conservative YouTuber Ashton Whitty posted a photo of herself wearing a Make America Great Again red cap at Disneyland. Whitty, whose videos include attacks on illegal immigration and Rep. Maxine Waters of California, added that “we need a Disney princess” that supports the Second Amendment, opposes abortion, and is passionate about both free speech and her country. She added the #MAGA tag to make her political affiliations clear.
We need a Disney princess who is pro #2A
We need a Disney princess who is #ChooseLife
We need a Disney princess who believes in #freespeech
We need a Disney princess who fights for her country.#MAGA pic.twitter.com/oLVMcIE7hH— Ashton Whitty? (@ashtonbirdie) July 8, 2018
Whitty’s post went viral, racking up more than 9,000 likes on Twitter, and another 2,500 on Instagram. It also caught the attention of Teigen, who was famously blocked on Twitter by President Trump over her sharp criticism of his policies.
Teigen couldn’t resist pointing out the flaws in Whitty’s Disney princess wish list. For starters: Politics isn’t really their thing. The cookbook author also took a shot at Whitty’s political stance, boiling it down to: “I HATE GUNS AND LOVE ABORTION AND BEING SUPRESSED AND HATE MY COUNTRY.”
I’ve seen like…all the Disney movies and none of the princesses have ever been like “I HATE GUNS AND LOVE ABORTION AND BEING SUPRESSED AND HATE MY COUNTRY” usually it’s just pretty mellow, singing and animals and stuff https://t.co/aBcbQYOfz9

Teigen’s response got more than 112,000 likes, prompting Whitty to call her “one of Hollywood’s favorite virtue signaling puppets.”
Settle down, ashley bogey. I’ll forget by tomorrow. https://t.co/yCho30GU4F

“You know you’ve won at life when a swimsuit model takes the time out of her busy schedule to tweet about you over a meme,” Whitty added.
When Teigen told her to “settle down,” Whitty fired back with a sexist remark involving Teigen’s husband, John Legend.
She’s still going at it? This is like the third tweet from her about me today.@chrissyteigen shouldn’t you be making John Legend a sandwich or something? https://t.co/ZNQBgYm3oi

Things are getting heated, but it’s not the first time a Disney princess has been used for political purposes. In March, the Keystone, Pa., branch of Planned Parenthood sparked controversy when it tweeted, then deleted, this message:
“We need a Disney princess who’s had an abortion. We need a Disney princess who’s pro-choice. We need a Disney princess who’s an undocumented immigrant. We need a Disney princess who’s actually a union worker. We need a Disney princess who’s trans.”
