Christina Aguilera, 40, fires up Instagram with topless photos
Christina Aguilera is ready to take the stage.
The iconic singer, 40, took to Instagram on Saturday to post a series of topless photos to promote her Sept. 11 appearance at the Lady Land festival, which is described as an "outdoor queer music festival" in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Sporting nothing but a pair of jeans and long platinum hair covering her chest and cascading down to her waist, the singer revealed a tattoo on her arm in the first photo. In the second shot, she posed with her arms behind her head as she sat at a dressing table with a single candle burning in front of her.
In response to her post, Aguilera's fiancé of seven years, Matthew Rutler, posted "Ummmmmm I am going to be there. Especially after seeing this."
The post, which was reminiscent of the cover of her 2002 album, Stripped, garnered over 600,000 likes from fans and friends alike. Aguilera noted the similarities in her Instagram stories, where she posted a comparison between the two shots.
Aguilera and Rutler share daughter Summer Rain, 7. Aguilera also has a 13-year-old son, Max, with ex-husband Jordan Bratman.
Last month, Aguilera celebrated her daughter's birthday with a joyful Instagram post.

"Happy 7th birthday my sweet, thoughtful, funny, creative, soulful, vibrant spirit...time moves too fast but every year I’m so in awe of the beautiful human you are and continue to grow to be!" Aguilera captioned the photo, which featured her alongside her daughter, who wore an "XTINA" jersey. "You are so loved by all around you and inspire us to see the world brighter because of you and the special energy you radiate! Mommy loves you so much!"
A mainstay in the music business, Aguilera has recently recognized her longevity in the challenging industry. Last week marked 22 years since the debut of her self-titled album, which included her breakthrough debut single, "Genie In A Bottle."
