Ciara Sheds Light on Co-Parenting with Ex-Fiance Future & Her Actions are Super Telling
You know the saying “Actions speak louder than words?” Well, that was certainly the case in Ciara’s recent interview with The Shade Room’s Thembi Mawema. Ciara — who is expecting her third child with husband Russell Wilson — shares a fourth child, Zahir, 9 with rapper and ex-fiancé, Future.
“What is co-parenting like for you guys?” Mawema asked.

And how did Ciara answer? She laughed … for well over 15 seconds. Fifteen seconds! Plus there were little pauses where it seemed like she was going to answer, but then the giggles would start all over again. She gave Mawema a conspiratorial look throughout, and that says a lot. Ciara and Future have had a notably rocky relationship. Just months after Zahir was born in 2014, the new parents ended their engagement amid reports that the rapper had cheated. Since then, Future has alleged — on multiple occasions! — that the “1, 2 Step” singer prevents him from seeing their son. A source told PEOPLE that the claims were unfounded and speculated that this was just a ploy to “promote his music.”
“He does not nor has he ever paid $15,000 in child support. It’s just not true,” the source said. “Ciara has never prevented him from seeing his child.”
In Jan. 2023, Ciara shared a rare video of Zahir that showed he might be following in the footsteps of his step-dad. While Ciara and Future have undeniable musical talents, Wilson is an NFL quarterback and Zahir has some serious football skills
“Training him right!!! ????????????,” Wilson commented on the video of his step-son making one-handed catches. (No biggie.)
Wilson and the “Goodies” singer also share daughter Sienna, 6, and son Win, 3. Based on Ciara’s birthday tribute to Sienna in April, it looks like athleticism might run in the family. That little cutie looks to be a solid gymnast, soccer player, basketball player, and ballerina. (Again, no biggie.)
