Ciara's Ex Future Disses Her Husband Russell Wilson in New Song
Ciara and Russell Wilson have been madly in love since 2015, but the "1,2 Step" singer's ex-fiancé Future doesn't seem happy for his former partner.
The rapper name-drops the Denver Broncos quarterback in "Turn Yo Clic Up," his collaborative track with Quavo: "I got it out the field, f--k Russell." The song, released on Friday, July 14, doesn't make mention of Future's ex, though.
Future previously seemingly referenced Ciara in his 2022 track "Bullseye 2" with Real Boston, rapping that he "still smash on C." The ludicrous line made waves on social media, with many of Ciara's fans joking that Future wished it were true.
It's not the first time the 39-year-old, who shares a 9-year-old son with the singer, has expressed his disapproval on Ciara's marriage to the athlete. In 2019, Future appeared on Apple Music Beats 1, where he shared his thoughts on the relationship.
"[Wilson] does exactly what she tell him to do," said the rapper. The issue, Future felt, was that Wilson wasn't telling Ciara to stop badmouthing the rapper on social media. "He not being a man in that position. You not tellin' her, 'Bro, chill out with that on the internet. Don't even talk about him. I'm your husband! You better not even bring Future's name up,'" he opined.
Future added, "If that was me, she couldn't even bring his name up. She'd know that. She could even bring her exes' names up. Don't give that s--t no energy. It's about me. I'm taking care of everything."
Ciara broke off her engagement to Future in August 2014. Though it was rumored that their breakup was due to the rapper's infidelities, he denied this, telling Huffington Post that they had simply grown apart.
