City pool passes available starting May 1

Apr. 27—Residents can get this year's passes for the Palestine Municipal Pool at the YMCA starting Wednesday, May 1.

The municipal pool is set to open Friday, May 24.

Patsy Smith, director of the city's Parks and Recreation Department, said residents of Palestine with an active water account may also obtain a free pool pass from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the City Hall Customer Service Desk, 504 N. Queen St.

Passes will only be issued to the person whose name is on the utility account and they must show a valid I.D. at time of purchase.

Resident passes are good for up to six people, but more may be added for an additional $5 per person.

Non-residents may obtain a pass for up to four people for a fee of $60.

The Palestine YMCA is the managing partner for the Palestine Municipal Pool and Aquatic Center, located next to the YMCA on Loop 256.

Additional swim times are offered to Y members and public swim is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
