Claire Danes confronted by animal rights activists shouting 'shame on you' over fur fashion
A panel to promote Claire Danes’s latest film, A Kid Like Jake, took a dramatic turn when she was confronted by animal rights activists shaming her for wearing fur.
The actress, who is pregnant with her second child, was speaking at the Vulture Festival alongside co-star Jim Parsons Sunday when protesters — one of whom waved a piece of fur in her face — interrupted.
“No human being should ever, ever wear real fur,” one woman scolded, according to video footage of the event obtained by the Daily Mail. “Shame on you for what you do.”
The protester was escorted out by security, with Danes responding, “I literally don’t recall if I ever wore fur.”
But more protests — and signs showing the Homeland star wearing a fur-lined hooded parka — quickly followed. Chants of “Claire Danes, shame on you!” rang out, and activists stormed the stage before being shooed away by security.
@ClaireDanesOrg I came to NYC for the Vulture festival. I saw Claire Danes and Jim Parsons together (they're starring in a movie.) At the beginning of the talk THREE women in succession shamed her-yelling that she wears fur (she was not for the festival.) The security gorillas..

According to the Daily Mail, the protesters are affiliated with the animal rights group Total Liberation New York, which previously crashed events for Gigi Hadid and Dolce & Gabbana.
