Clash Royale gets its biggest ever update | What to expect in the Epic Quests Update

Clash Royale, the mobile PvP brawler that builds on much of the art style and design found in Clash of Clans, is getting its biggest ever update. Called the Epic Quests Update, it's bringing in, you guessed it, quests! There's a whole lot more, too, so let's go through some of the patch notes.

Quests

Daily and Weekly Quests are now available, which give you extra rewards for completing certain objectives. For example, one might be as simple as hitting a tower 10 times with Hog Rider, with 15 points and 3 gems being your reward. Those points go towards chests, which could be Super Magical or Legendary Chests, for free.

Some quests are related to how you play the game, while others are to do with interacting with other players in your clan, so if you've not got a clan yet, you'll need one to make the most out of the new quests.

New modes

Also coming with this update is a new update called Touchdown, which is somewhat inspired by Rugby and American Football, at least in its appearance. There's no towers in this game mode, it's all about using units to push towards the enemy and get a touchdown, overwhelming them.

Gold Rush and Gem Rush events are also available, where you'll earn gold or gems respectively for taking down towers. Finally for the new modes, Mirror Battles will let you play against an opponent with an identical deck, making the game much more about how you use your cards than what's in it.

Improvement and new cards

It's now possible to share and copy your decks from outside of the game itself, making deck sharing much easier. The shop has also been revamped, and now offers a free Epic Card every Sunday.  New cards are coming with a new system, and this update is seeing a re-balancing for several cards, which have been detailed elsewhere, plus a few bug fixes.

The update is available now, with more details available on the official patch notes page. Go through your platform's app store to download the update and get started on the new quests.
