Bergamy says we should expect to see middle-parted voluminous curls or 'fros this fall. So keeping in line with the trends, Bergamy styled her client Ziwe with gorgeous picked out ringlet curls for a long style that doesn't compromise volume. Celebrity makeup artist Merrell Hollis complimented the look with dewy, neutral makeup.
The Cher
One long hairstyle that is never going to go out of style are ultra long waves that stretch down to your waist, like Demi Moore's look here. Go all one length for a groovy '70s vibe or try soft layers to achieve some "'80s punk," says Bergamy.
She adds that "the longer, the better." But even if you don't have the length naturally, Bergamy says 40 to 80 inch extensions in any texture "are hot right now."
Hip-Length Locs
Bergamy says that long locs worn down or even in an updo is a perfect fall look. Take a page from Zendaya's book at the Oscars and opt for locs with a side swept half up half down 'do for a youthful look.
Long Box Braids
Another super flattering style that's trending right now is super long box braids, like the ones Gabrielle Union is repping here. Bergamy suggests adding some accessories to spruce up the look, and Union's rhinestone strands are perfect for the holiday season.
The Modern Shag
"Shags give a cool, sexy, rock and roll vibe with length, layers, and flirty bangs," says Davide Marinelli, an Oribe Educator and the owner of Davide Hair Studio. "The size of the bangs is determined by how much the client wants to open up or close the face. Analyzing the client's body is crucial to keeping the cut age appropriate. For example, a blunt cut that comes at or past the bra strap elongates the neck and makes it appear slimmer, but too much length can have an aging effect."
Long Layers with Curtain Bangs

"I like to cut inner layers, meaning you cut layers on the inside going from short to long as you get to the crown. This layering technique gives the hair movement and body without the hassle of trying to keep all the layers around the brush when blow-drying," explains Marinelli.

"This classic look can be modernized by cutting the hair slightly shorter in the back and in a long, pointed angle hitting the top of the bang in front. This will slim the face, elongate the neck, and accentuate the chest," explains Marinelli of this look demonstrated by celebrities like Kerry Washington and Kim Kardashian.
There's no cut-off point for having long hair. If you've got it, flaunt it. Go for that Kim Kardashian-approved butt-length hair or chic waist-length box braids. And long tresses are pro-approved for the remainder of 2021.
"Long hairstyles [are] supreme and still trendy if you get the right cut and hair color," says Contents Haircare founder and celebrity stylist Cheryl Bergamy. She also adds that with the '70s, '80s, and '90s making a comeback, long hair will be bigger than ever.
