Late on Sunday night, Kellyanne Conway announced she will be leaving the White House at the end of the month, stepping away from her role as counselor to the president.

Her husband George Conway, who has been a consistent critic of the president, will also be leaving his job at the Lincoln Project, a group of Republicans working to get Trump out of office in November.

In her letter announcing her departure, Kellyanne wrote the past four years had been "heady" and "humbling" but said she would be taking time away to focus on her kids.

She wrote: "I will be transitioning from the White House at the end of this month. George is also making changes. We disagree about plenty but we are united on what matters most: the kids. Our four children are teens and ‘tweens starting a new academic year, in middle school and high school, remotely from home for at least a few months. As millions of parents nationwide know, kids 'doing school from home' requires a level of attention and vigilance that is as unusual as these times. This is completely my choice and my voice. In time, I will announce future plans. For now, and for my beloved children, it will be less drama, more mama."

Notably, one of those "teens and ‘tweens" is 15-year-old Claudia Conway. For months, Claudia has been posting to TikTok and Twitter to share how much she disagrees with her parents' politics, particularly her mom's. On Saturday, Claudia tweeted she was "officially pushing for emancipation," and then, earlier on Sunday, posted she would be "taking a mental health break from social media," telling her followers "no hate to my parents please."

But after her parents' announcements, Claudia returned to TikTok, posting a video of herself in front of her dad's tweet. In the video, she said: "Look what I did. Look at what I did, ladies and gentleman. Look at what I did." She captioned the video: "the power i hold - i— they think this is gonna stop me from getting emancipated? NANSHAJAB BYE"

She then posted another TikTok reacting to her mom's tweet:

Her last TikTok was a simple text post where she wrote: “words are not enough to express my love for my following. you are all amazing. thank you for the support and love. may you feel my love and peace back. i am taking a break to process this recent news and to stabilize my mental health. i love you. i love you. i love you.”

Kellyanne has been at the White House for all of Trump's time as president, having been his third campaign manager during the 2016 election. According to the Washington Post, senior advisors on the Trump campaign previously suggested Kellyanne take a leave of absence from the White House to join the re-election efforts, but Kellyanne "could not envision herself in that role right now, spending so much time away from her family."

Kellyanne will be speaking at the Republican National Convention this Wednesday night.
