CLEVELAND (WJW) – Do you want to fill your summer weekends with fun activities, but don’t know where to begin? Maybe you want to try new things this summer and even meet new people. Well, you’ve come to the right place.
Here at Fox 8 News, we believe clubs aren’t just for kids! There are plenty of adult clubs to join right here in Northeast Ohio, for all different kinds of hobbies.
Check out our list of a few fun clubs right here in NE Ohio. A few are even tested out by us, the Fox 8 News employees:
Roasted Tremont Yarn Club
If you love to crochet, knit or craft, we’ve got the club just for you! The Roasted Tremont Yarn Club is held at the coffee shop on the first Sunday of each month at 10 a.m. and everyone is welcome to join. It’s a great opportunity to connect with area crafters, enjoy a cup of coffee and get inspired.
Cle Gals Book Club
If you’re a Cleveland-area “girlie pop” who loves to read, this is the club for you! Each month, the club hosts a book club meeting (usually focused on a popular book) at various locations. They even hold special events such as silent book clubs and book clubs on the beach!
Hikerbabes Cleveland
If you’re a woman who loves the outdoors and hiking, why not go on adventures with like-minded people? The Hikerbabes hiking club is a Northeast Ohio and Cleveland-based club that takes hikes and goes on adventures all around the region. With hikes and adventures planned nearly every day this summer, you’re bound to find one to join.
CLE Readers Book Club
“A book a day keeps reality away” is the motto of the CLE Readers book club. Held at the Roasted coffee shop in Lakewood, the book club holds monthly meetings as well as book swaps, bookfair outings and more. Cleveland Run Club
The Cleveland Run Club is the perfect excuse to get out for a run and meet people while you’re at it. Each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., the club meets at various locations across the city including Kamm’s Corner, Rocky River Metro Parks, Lakewood, Downtown, and Tremont. Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club
The Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club is the largest and longest-running young professional association in Northeast Ohio. With thousands of members ages 21-45, the club has more than 100 events each year including social, networking, philanthropy and education activities. From wine tastings and trivia nights to summer picnics and volleyball leagues, the Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club will have something for you!
Yarn Over Cleveland
Yarn Over Cleveland is a club for all ages dedicated to crochet and yarn lovers in the Cleveland area. “We love to chat about yarn, hooks, and patterns, help each other with projects we are working on, or look to each other for inspiration,” the club’s Facebook page says. Join a regular meeting and workshops to get your craft on today.
Svette Signers
The memory and legacy of Sharon Svette, an intervention specialist at Elyria High School, lives on through the Svette Signers, an ASL choir in Northeast Ohio.

W. 6th Tailgate
If you love football and want to bond with others who feel the same, the W. 6th Tailgate is the club for you! Although football season is not year-round, the W. 6th Tailgate hosts events all year. Click here for more.
Portage Lakes Running Company
The Portage Lakes Running Company hosts races throughout the Akron area. There is also a Cleveland branch for runners called the PLX North Running Company.
