Clip: XXL Closeout Set Steamrolls Skeleton Bay

You're probably aware that Namibia's Skelton Bay is in the middle of a week-long run of pumping surf.

Everyone from Kelly Slater to blue-collar tube hounds like North Carolina's Joey Crum are on hand to chase the longest tube of their lives. Many have already scored it.

Yesterday, however, the swell pulsed big time on dark, and the normally razor edge sandbar went XXL — with a 10-foot set steamrolling the lineup, and closing out the channel.

"I knew it was going to be big this swell but not this big," writes Oliver Kurtz. "This evening at Skeleton Bay and it’s closing out. Stoked to get a little one before dark."

The clip is filmed with an iPhone so it's impossible for it to convey just how big and scary the wave actually is, but if you look closely, you'll see surfers just barely scratching over the back.

Can you imagine getting steamrolled by that set?

Tomorrow, the swell is meant to come down a tad, so you can expect your Instagram feed to flood with surfers screaming through 30+ second tubes.

Stay tuned. We'll curate the best of 'em here.
