Coffee Mate Launches First Non-Creamer Product in 60 Years

Coffee Mate may be known for its wide selection of creamers, but now, the company hopes to establish itself in an all-new category.
Earlier this week, the brand announced its latest endeavor: iced coffee.
"??ATTENTION Iced Coffee Lovers: Introducing NEW Coffee mate Iced Coffee, available in two delicious flavors – French Vanilla and Caramel! ???," the company revealed in an Oct. 23 Instagram post.
The official statement continued, "Iced coffee is always in season thanks to our first-ever, ready-to-drink iced coffee made with smooth coffee balanced with the rich taste of Coffee mate creamer. Simply pour over ice and enjoy!"
According to Coffee Mate, the 50-ounce bottles of its branded iced coffee is now available in the refrigerated section of grocery stores nationwide for $4.99 each, working out to about $1 per serving.
Fans of the brand seemed pretty pleased by the news, taking to the comments with their opinions and excitement.
"Omg ?? Im screaming I want the caramel one," one wrote before another added, "Definitely going to try the Vanilla??."
Others are already begging Coffee Mate to expand its lineup of iced coffees, suggesting sugar-free, caffeine-free and nut milk-based versions.
"Yes!!!!" one exclaimed. "Now you need a pumpkin spice flavor and a peppermint mocha and this would be pure perfection."
"Sugar free please or almond milk ones please," a second pleaded.
"Yayyyyyy, but Do you have Decaf for those of us that cannot Drink Caffeine???" someone else inquired.
While the company hasn't responded to fans' requests just yet, a rep explained the decision to launch the new line, citing a massive opportunity to win over new generations of coffee drinkers.
“Enjoying cold coffee year-round has become a ‘personality trait’ for many coffee drinkers who are choosing iced over everything,” said Leonardo Aizpuru, Nestlé’s vice president of brand marketing for the beverage division and business unit, in a statement first shared with Today.
“This growing love for iced coffee — especially among Gen Z — presented an ideal opportunity for Coffee mate to move beyond creamers for the first time in its 60+ years since inception,” Aizpuru concluded.
