A new Coffee Surf Co. location is coming to the Jersey Shore
Coffee Surf Co. is riding a wave down the coast, expanding south to its latest location in Brielle.
The new spot inside Pat's Deli will open Wednesday, May 15.
"Pat [Matera] has had the deli for 17 years ... It's a super old deli, and he owns Gee Gee's Pizza, so when he [heard] I was starting to look around for other places, he [suggested] his deli," said Barry Peterson, owner and creator of Coffee Surf Co.. "You can get sandwiches and all that, and we have a super awesome coffee bar that I'm building."
The new location was announced via an Instagram post on Sunday.
"I made it look like more of a general store, with the deli and coffee shop under one roof," Peterson said, describing the spot with oak barrels tables, wood floors and wood walls as warm, cozy and Vermont-esque.
Other locations for Coffee Surf Co. include the Red Bank Food Town, inside the Belmar Playa Bowls, and the seasonal outdoor spot at Gee Gee's Pizza in Manasquan.

Although the new location has a slightly different vibe that Peterson said is "more us," it will have some new menu items along with old favorites.
Coffee Surf Hydrators, which will launch just before summer, are coconut water-based drinks. Coffee Surf also recently started making homemade energy drinks, using flavorless caffeine to boost flavors like Cherry Rocks, Peach Beach and Pina Colada.
Peterson previously worked as a chef and also founded Stay Gold Cafe in Belmar, and he enjoys coming up with drinks that are fun and different. The Coffee Surf menu in Brielle features a cold brew with peach and elderberry syrups, a banana split-inspired iced latte, and a lemonade-infused cold brew.

The new shop will serve popular smoothies like the Wedge: banana, pineapple, spinach, almond milk and vanilla protein. Milkshakes will also be added to the menu.
At its heart, Coffee Surf's model is based on his love of the ocean, and serving those who love it, too.
"We're by the marinas, so even though we're a little more away from the beach, we're still serving our water community," he said. "To be on the water, whether you're on the ocean or your boat, it's our lifestyle."
