SPRINGETTSBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) – A park in York County has now become part-library, thanks to a new collaborative effort.

York County Libraries and Springettsbury Township have teamed up to develop a new StoryWalk at Springettsbury Park.

Pages of a children’s book are now posted along a walking path at the park for visitors to read.

Sometimes when you have young children, their patience to sit there and read all the time isn’t there,” Brandy Shope, Springettsbury Township Director of Parks and Recreation, said. “So this gives them something to actively move and do.”

“But at the same time, there’s that learning component and we’re truly making reading fun with the Storywalk,” Mindy McDonnell, Director of Youth Services for York County Libraries, added.

The park is located at Mount Zion Road and U.S. 30 east of York.
