College student throws bleach in roommate's eyes because she 'couldn't control herself'
A college student who threw bleach on her roommate’s face told law enforcement that she did so because she could not control her own anger.
Brianna Esomchukwu, 18, a freshmen at Prairie View A&M University in Texas, was arrested on March 8th on charges of aggravated assault for the alleged attack on her roommate, Julisha Wyatt, 19, according to WFAA.
Campus police chief Keith Jemison tells Yahoo Lifestyle that roommates Esomchukwu and Wyatt had been bickering lately over Esomchukwu’s alleged in-room pot smoking, which was causing Wyatt’s asthma to flare up. That led to them arguing in a common area after one of the women had lost her keys and the other had not left the door unlocked, as promised.
Once they were in a bedroom, according to the police report, Esomchukwu put her hands in Wyatt’s face before leaving to get a bottle of bleach, which then she allegedly poured on Wyatt.

Wyatt had bleach in her eyes, but was treated at the hospita, and will recover, reported WFAA. Her laptop was also ruined.
Esomchukwu is free on bond from Waller County Jail.
“The suspect told police she was mad and couldn’t control herself in the heat of the moment,” Jemison tells Yahoo Lifestyle.
A school spokesperson tells Yahoo Lifestyle, “The university has initiated its student conduct process and will be reviewing this incident. We will not comment further in adherence to the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act.”
Wyatt did not return an interview request from Yahoo Lifestyle. Her aunt, Lenell Wyatt (who also could not be reached), told WFAA, “I want her roommate to be punished. I want Prairie View A&M to realize that this was a serious situation, and could have been much worse than what it is.”
