32-year-old singer-songwriter Tyler Childers has a new music video that will pull at your heartstrings and make you believe in love.

In the vein of Brokeback Mountain and God’s Own Country, the music video for “In Your Love” tells the story of two male coal miners, played by Colton Haynes and You star James Scully, who fall in love in 1950s Appalachia. The two begin a secret affair, exchanging meaningful glances in the mine, four-leaf clovers in a field, and kisses in secret.

Unfortunately, one of their fellow miners catches them kissing in the woods, leading them to be attacked at work. But the story doesn’t have its end there.

Haynes and Scully move out to a farm in the country where they live and love happily together. They build a home together, go out on dates, and become a family.

Unfortunately, Scully starts to cough more and more, and his history as a miner catches up with him, giving him black lung. He dies in Haynes' arms on the porch of the house they lived in together.

On Instagram, Haynes called the video “easily one of my favorite projects I’ve ever been a part of,” and encouraged viewers to “grab a tissue.”

Tyler Childers - In Your Love (Official Video)

The video was written and creative directed by Silas House, who knows the importance of telling stories like this.

“As a gay teenager who loved country music, I could have never imagined seeing myself in a video. That visibility matters. There have always been LGBTQ people in rural places and finally we’re seeing that portrayed in a country music video,” he said in a statement. “Tyler and I both felt the attention to detail about rural life was very important, so we made sure that the house and the people looked realistic for the time period instead of the stereotypes of country people that have become so ingrained in the public consciousness.”
