Columbus Zoo launches ‘scooter pals’ rentals
POWELL, Ohio (WCMH) – The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium has a new way for visitors to see the exhibits.
The zoo recently launched its new “scooter pals” to help people who want to ride around certain areas of the zoo. The “fur-wheelers” that look like animals from the zoo can carry up to two people and are now available, according to the zoo. Riders can rent the scooters for as little or as long as they want.

Scooter Pals can be rented near the rides in Adventure Cove. If visitors want to rent a scooter, they can scan a QR code located at the rental location, complete a form, and start riding.
The zoo states that the Scooter Pals only work within Adventure Cove, around Conservation Lake, and in the Asia Quest loop. For ride requirements, renters must be 16 years or older to rent and drive the scooters, must be more than 36 inches tall and the total weight capacity for all riders is 440 pounds, according to the zoo’s website.
The scooter is $5 to activate and costs 35 cents per minute and rentals are first come, first serve. The zoo will still offer any wheelchairs or scooter rentals for those who need help traveling around the entire zoo.
