Comedian Heather McMahan Has a Request for Taylor Swift: ‘I Would Be so Appreciative’

Comedian and actress Heather McMahan has shared a request with the world that many Taylor Swift fans can relate to.
McMahan, who said she is a “huge fan” of the “Cruel Summer” songstress, revealed during a Wednesday, March 27, appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna that she tried—and failed—to get tickets to see Swift when the pop star brought her Eras Tour to Sydney earlier this year. It’s a problem that McMahan now hopes Swift can help her solve.
The Love Hard actress first explained to Today with Hoda & Jenna co-host Jenna Bush Hager that she’d been “competing” for fans with the “Bad Blood” singer while putting on her own shows in Australia.
“I was like, all the girls in glitter suits should be coming to my show, but I got it,” McMahan said. “I didn’t even want to do my show. I was like, ‘I’d rather go to Taylor Swift.’”
But McMahan, 37, was unable to make it to any of Swift’s shows. “I tried to get tickets and I couldn’t get tickets,” she explained. When the former first daughter asked if McMahan wanted to send a message to Swift, the comedian quickly turned to face the camera.
“Taylor, if you’re there, anybody from your team, I would love to come see you,” she began. "I’m a huge fan. And so if you could send me a couple tix, or just give me a hotline to call, I would be so appreciative. Love you, mean it. Kisses.”
Today with Hoda & Jenna later shared a clip of McMahan’s plea on Instagram and used the video's caption to urge Swift, 34, to contact the comedian "at your earliest convenience.”
The “Lover” singer performed a handful of concerts in Australia last month, starting with three consecutive dates in Melbourne before she brought her tour to Sydney’s Accor Stadium. Swift’s final show in Sydney made history as she became the first artist to perform four shows at the venue during the same tour.
Like her Today appearance, McMahan issued a similar plea for Swift tickets ahead of the Sydney concerts. In a Feb. 21 TikTok featuring a koala bear named Cuddles, McMahan addressed Swift directly, saying both she and Cuddles “would love” to receive tickets for one of the Sydney shows. At the time, McMahan ended her 15-second video with a humorous warning about what the repercussions would be if the tickets weren’t received.
“See ya, hopefully, at the show,” McMahan said in the video. "Or Cuddles will haunt you.”
