Comme des Gar?ons’ Dazzling Spring 2025 Show Debuted New Phileo Collaborations
More from Footwear News
Footwear designer Philéo Landowski and Comme des Gar?ons founder Rei Kawakubo have reunited on a new range of shoes.
Revealed on the runway Saturday in Paris during the Comme des Gar?ons spring 2025 show, the latest Comme des Gar?ons x Phileo collaboration includes three different models. For the Comme des Gar?ons spring ’25 show, titled “Uncertain Future,” Kawakubo dressed models in abstract looks likened to cloudscapes and desserts. On foot, 15 of the show’s 23 looks included two of three new Comme des Gar?ons x Phileo shoes.
The first, the Comme des Gar?ons x Phileo 062 – Derby TR, is based on a traditional lace-up derby. The second is the higher-cut, trucker boot-inspired Comme des Gar?ons x Phileo 063 – Trucker TR. Both pairs are bound by Kawakubo’s vision for the collection, which includes a “blend of transparency and bold expression,” according to a press release.
This is achieved through white translucent polyurethane uppers which feature singular, oversized circular metal eyelets. Each collaborative model also uses the same chunky, rippled Azar sole featured on many of Phileo’s mainline shoes. The EVA sole is composed of 70 percent recycled sugarcane.
While the collaboration’s 062 – Derby TR and 063 – Trucker TR were seen in many of the show’s looks, a third model, the 060 – Mary Jane TR, was not included. Instead, it will be exclusively previewed to buyers and press through Oct. 2 at the Comme des Gar?ons Paris showroom.
Landowski has been a fixture in Paris Fashion Week news. The designer also partnered with Japanese installation artist Tadashi Kawamata for “Avalanche,” an installation at Dover Street Market Paris which is supported by Adidas.
Prior to this latest link-up, Comme des Gar?ons and Phileo have previously worked together on spring 2024’s 041 – Idoine LT and fall 2024’s 005 – Derby Melted and 005 – Derby Melted L shoes.
Specific release details and price points for the new Comme des Gar?ons x Phileo collaboration have not yet been announced.
