Sep. 28—Barney Family to have reunion
The Barney family will have their first family reunion on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m., at Forest Glen's Edgewood Center — the house with a porch when you first enter the park.
Those attending should bring a covered dish, games, lawn chairs, and old-style photos. Meat and soft drink will be provided. Guests should RSVP by Wednesday, Oct. 2 by calling 217-213-2919.
Book sale planned
at Westville Library
The Westville Public Library will have a book sale on Friday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.The sale will include books, audiobooks and DVDs. The library is located at 233 S. State St., Westville.
Compost on sale
The City of Danville Public Works yard waste facility has compost on sale for $10 per cubic yard. If you are interested in purchasing, please call the Public Works facility at 217-431-2288 or stop by the office at 1155 East Voorhees St. Delivery of compost is available within five miles of the city limits for a $30 fee per load.
A full load of compost for delivery is up to six cubic yards.
Lutheran Church to have holiday bazaar
The annual Leaf and Holly Holiday Bazaar at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1930 N. Bowman St., is set for Tuesday, Nov. 12. Doors will be open from 10 a.m. The event ends at 2 p.m.
The event features tables of home baked goods, candies, crafts, wood carvings, attic treasures, and Christmas décor and gifts. A lunch of BBQ pulled pork will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Proceeds benefit missions and local charities.
