Superior: Superior Senior High School Class of 1989 is holding its 35th reunion. A tour of the new high school is at 3 p.m.; meet at the main entrance. A gathering starts at 6 p.m. at Log Cabin Tavern, 2821 S. County Road E.

Superior: Sound Inc. performs '60s and '70s rock in the Lake Superior Squadron hangar at the Richard I. Bong Memorial Airport. Donations to the squadron accepted. Food and Earth Rider beer available and check out the World WWII artifacts and planes.

Superior: An ice cream social with music is 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Fairlawn Mansion. Superior High School musicians perform from 5:30-6:30, Breanne Marie and the Front Porch Sinners perform 7-8:30 p.m. Amazing Charles the musician performs at 6 and 7:15 p.m. Bring a chair or blanket. Musical cakes game is at 6:30 p.m. Ongoing activities include artist and nonprofit booths, car show, children's games and food and Culver's custard. Go to the Carriage House to get a token for a free tour of the mansion, while supplies last.

Superior: The Caterpillar Hunter takes elementary-aged children on an adventure at 2 p.m. at the Superior Public Library. The free interactive performance is presented by the Traveling Lantern Theatre Company.

Superior: The Superior Senior High School class of 1974 holds its 50-year class reunion July 19-20. Activities include a flag raising in honor of veterans and fallen classmates at 8:45 a.m. Friday at the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center, followed by a tour of Superior High School, and a gathering at Barker's Island at 6 p.m.. Saturday includes a golf scramble and picnic at Billings Park and gathering at Ace's on 29th, 2928 Oakes Ave., in the evening. The teaching staff from 1974 are welcome to join as guests. Solon Springs: Opening reception of the Rural Arts Voice-North's Upper St. Croix Art Exhibition is 6:30-8 p.m. at the historic Old Village Hall on Main Street. Meet some of the participating artists and see original visual artwork, some of which is for sale. The exhibit is also open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 20-28.

Parkland: A household hazardous waste collection is from 8 a.m. to noon at Parkland town Hall. Accepted items include paint, pesticides, fertilizers, corrosives and flammables. Most items are free; a fee will be charged for batteries and light bulbs. Items that won't be accepted include motor oil, appliances, incandescent light bulbs and recyclables.

Superior: The Free Spirit Riders Saddle Club horse show was rescheduled and spectators are welcome to watch for free beginning at noon at the Head of the Lake Fairgrounds. Food concessions available.

Lake Nebagamon: The annual Classics by the Lake car show runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the Auditorium. In addition to cars there will be food, music, raffles and children's activities.

Solon Springs: Lake City Smokin Section performs at 7 p.m. at the Lucius Woods Performing Arts Center. The band plays dance hits from the 1960s through today. Tickets are $15 at lwmusic.org.
