Community Clothes Closet in Menasha holds fundraising blitz to provide new clothing for students

MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) – A local non-profit is working to help 850 kids learn and play confidently this year, providing new clothing and shoes for students in need.

Menasha’s Community Clothes Closet will host its annual Cool for School event on Aug. 16-17. The event allows students in need to buy new clothing of all kinds for free.

However, the event is costly, and the Community Clothes Closet is asking for help, starting a ten-day fundraising blitz to raise $15,000 through July 31. According to a release, the first $7,000 donated will be matched through a fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region.

“We have already been prepping for this [since] March, April of this year,” Community Clothes Closet Operations Director Andrea Peterson said. “We’re trying to do everything we can to make sure the kiddos in the area are able to start off the school year with the clothing that they need to feel confident and good about themselves walking into the new school year.”
