Competitors at an ice cream eating contest at South Mountain Creamery in Middletown on Saturday had to eat 10 scoops, plus a lot more.

The five scoops of vanilla and five scoops of birthday cake ice cream were topped with crumbled brownie, Froot Loops cereal, chocolate chips, gummy animals, sprinkles, whipped cream, and caramel and chocolate sauces.

Each portion weighed an estimate five to six pounds.

The winner on Saturday was Clay Piccerillo of Frederick. His winning time was 12 minutes, 27 seconds.

Piccerillo also won last year’s contest.
