The New York Times

The New York Times game resets every day at midnight, and some puzzles are more challenging than others.

I was confident with my first guess today, and got that correct grouping right away. But I made a couple of additional guesses without bothering to look up "scarab meaning" or "ankh meaning" in a quick search—which would have been a smarter thing to do while playing! Needless to say, by the time I narrowed down the categories to two, I didn't have any extra guesses left, which ended up hurting me in the end.

2. Influence: Clout, Pull, Sway, Weight

3. Egyptian Symbols: Ankh, Crook, Eye, Scarab

4. Fonts: Courier, Impact, Papyrus, Times

At one point, I thought "Impact" belonged in the "Influence" category, and it bears repeating that I really wish I had looked up the meanings of "Ankh," an Egyptian symbol of life, and "Scarab," an Egyptian symbol of rebirth, a lot earlier in the process.
