Here’s What’s Cooking for 'Hell's Kitchen' Season 22

Hell’s Kitchen will return for a 22nd season this Fall on FOX with a focus on The American Dream and stories that are uniquely American.

Hell’s Kitchen is a flagship series for us, and has been a fan-favorite since it first premiered,” said Rob Wade, president, Alternative Entertainment & Specials, FOX Entertainment. “In fact, it’s the show that first brought Gordon Ramsay to FOX, essentially serving as the launchpad for our long-standing relationship with him.”

As always, this season of Hell’s Kitchen will put aspiring chefs through an intense culinary academy to prove they have the endurance and skill to compete each week. But only those who possess the right combination of ingredients will continue until one is named winner. At stake is a $250,000 grand prize as well as chef positions at some of Ramsay’s most famous restaurants around the country, and the title of Hell’s Kitchen winner.

Alex Belew, 40, a former restaurant owner from Murfreesboro, Tenn., got the winning nod from Gordon Ramsay. Alex turned to his Southern roots to help construct his winning menu.

He told Parade, “That’s just who I am, I can’t really get away from it. I don’t try to be overly Southern in my cooking. I’m not making chicken and dumplings and fried okra, but that natural cooking style is just going to flow through me. I can’t really get away from it, it’s just going to come out. I don’t sit down and go, ‘How can I make this as redneck as possible?’ But it’s just part of who I am, so it’s going to be a part of my cooking style.”
