Corsicana Visitors Bureau launches Visit Corsicana Ambassador Program
Jun. 3—Corsicana — The Corsicana Visitors Bureau is delighted to extend an invitation to the vibrant community members of Corsicana to become a Visit Corsicana Ambassador for the city. The tourism office is seeking individuals who harbor a deep love for Corsicana and wish to contribute to its thriving hospitality.
The ambassador role is a unique opportunity to engage with visitors at the Corsicana Visitor Center, located at 301 S. Beaton St., with the goal of crafting a distinctive and memorable experience for every guest. The Visit Corsicana Ambassador program launched in March with eight members already volunteering their time.
"It was worth retiring to do because it's so much fun, mainly visiting with people," Ambassador Sharon Goodman said.
As ambassadors, individuals are encouraged to commit to a minimum of two four-hour shifts per month. In return for their commitment, ambassadors will enjoy a range of membership benefits, including complimentary items, enticing discounts at the Visitor Center gift shop, and a welcome bag filled with free tickets and exclusive discounts to partner attractions and events.
The initiative to enlist ambassadors is driven by the collective aim to extend the operational hours of the Corsicana Visitor Center while also working to meet one of the goals of the CVB's three-year strategic tourism plan.
"One of the four main goals of the CVB's tourism plan is more collaborative community alignment as we found there was a disconnect from our locals to the visitors," Tourism Director Amy Tidwell said. "What better way to help bridge this gap by creating a program that gives our locals the opportunity to interact directly with the visitors as well as staying up to date on all the current events in Corsicana tourism."
Currently, the Visitor Center, which houses both the Main Street and Tourism office, experiences periodic closures when staff members are engaged in meetings or projects. Additionally, the center is not open every weekend, presenting a unique opportunity for the ambassador program to contribute significantly to more frequent openings and a heightened visitor experience.
Visit Corsicana Ambassador Coordinator, Catherine Turner expresses genuine excitement about the program's potential, stating, "We are thrilled to see the Ambassador program enhance the visitor experience while expanding the Corsicana Visitor Center's hours. This initiative is an excellent opportunity to make Corsicana an even more welcoming and vibrant community."
For those interested in joining the Visit Corsicana Ambassador program, applications can be obtained by contacting Catherine Turner at the Corsicana Visitor Center at 903-654-4852 or email [email protected]. Alternatively, applications are available in person at the Visitor Center itself.
