Costco Unveils Its 2024 Whiskey Advent Calendar

Holiday season has officially kicked into gear at Costco, as the big box retailer has once again brought back its popular advent calendars. And in addition to the usual wine, beer, coffee, and imported cheese offerings, this year's 2024 whiskey advent calendar offers a special treat for whiskey lovers.

Tasting Table reports that Costco's 2024 whiskey calendar is being marketed as a "whisky tour of the world," featuring 24 drams from 20 different countries, hailing everywhere from Kentucky and Scotland to Taiwan and India. The retail price varies depending on location, but you can expect to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $240 for the box, or about $10 for each 50-milliliter mini bottle of whiskey.

The packaging of the box offers a look at six of the whiskey brands featured inside: Green River bourbon whiskey from Kentucky, Mackmyra Svensk Ek whisky from Sweden, Nc'Nean whisky from the Scotland, Kavalan whisky from Taiwan, Lark whisky from Australia, and Hatozaki whisky from Japan. However, that's only just a sampling of the diverse brands in the 2024 advent calendar.

Other whiskey gems found within include Indri Trini from India, Pokeno from New Zealand, M&H from Israel, Breckinridge from Colorado, Helsinki from Finland, Abasolo from Mexico, and Puni from Italy. The latest advent calendar is also said to feature a little something for everybody, with a range of bourbons, single malt scotches, ryes, and whiskey blends.

Unfortunately, the 2024 whiskey advent calendar is only available in states that allow for the sale of liquor at Costco, which means that residents of Pennsylvania, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Texas, among others, are sadly out of luck. But for those who are lucky enough to live near a booze-friendly Costco, you may want to hold off until early December when the boxes go on sale.
