The countdown to Super Bowl LVII is officially on, and while we can't wait to see the Kansas City Chiefs battle it out against the Philadelphia Eagles, we all know that the Super Bowl Sunday is an event. Sure, we'll tune in to see what magic Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts can pull off when neither quarterback is 100%. And then there is the added drama of Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce taking the field as the first brothers to compete for the Lombardi Trophy. But we're also looking forward to the commercials and the Super Bowl snacks and the music.

This year's musical performances promise something for everyone. Grammy-winning superstar Rihanna will take center stage to perform the halftime show. But the NFL also announced the pregame entertainment, and that lineup has us just as excited. R&B star Babyface will be singing "America the Beautiful," Abbott Elementary star Sheryl Lee Ralph will be on hand to perform "Lift Every Voice and Sing," and country star Chris Stapleton has the honors of performing the National Anthem.

Chris joins the ranks of country stars who have performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, including Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Eric Church. Just last year, Mickey Guyton performed "The Star Spangled Banner."

Chris Stapleton shared the news on Instagram and was flooded with thousands of comments and more than 130,000 likes. His fellow country music singers took notice and left messages of support.

"Paper Cowboy" singer Margo Price, who has toured with Chris, said, "Oh. My. God. YES," and Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town chimed in with "YES!!!!! ????????????." Singer/songwriter Lucie Silvas (who is married to John Osborne of Brothers Osborne), wrote, "Epic xxxxxxx," and "Make it Past Georgia" singer Ashland Craft said, "The only reason I will be watching the Super Bowl??" Even Nic Sheridan, wife of Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, commented, "????????"

Mickey Guyton, who has first-hand experience of singing at the Super Bowl, wrote, "You was made for this moment and I can’t wait to watch. Enjoy every minute and don’t forget to breathe. ??"

Be sure to tune in before the game to see Chris's sure-to-be-memorable performance. Super Bowl LVII kicks off at 6:30 p.m. EST on Fox and the Fox Sports app. If you don't have cable, try a streaming service with live TV, like Hulu + Live TV or SlingTV.
