Find Out What Country Superstar Wynonna Judd Is Worth in 2023
Wynonna Judd
Wynonna Judd’s life and net worth have had as many ups and downs as a classic country ballad.
Born Christina Claire Ciminella in 1964, Wynonna joined her mother Naomi Judd in a country duo starting in 1979. The band started as a way for mother and daughter to bond. “I could only afford the ‘used’ record bin and there was a 33-1/3 album of Hazel and Alice,” Naomi told PBS. “They were all coal-mining songs. And as these women harmonized together, it came to me: Wynonna and I couldn’t talk to each other, but, low and behold, we could sing together.” The Judds became one of the most famous and bestselling country groups in the world, with eight gold and eight platinum records, per RIAA.
But life hasn’t always been kind to Wynonna. The Judds disbanded in 1991, after Naomi was diagnosed with persistent hepatitis C. Wynonna went on to create a solo career, occasionally touring with her mother when her health allowed it. Unfortunately, Naomi died by suicide in 2022, just before the duo was set to go on tour again. Read on to learn more about the Judds’ history and Wynonna’s net worth and future.
What is Wynonna Judd’s net worth?
Celebrity Net Worth places Wynonna Judd’s net worth at $12 million. Of her famous family members, Wynonna is at the bottom. Sister Ashley Judd is estimated to have $14 million, while her late mother was reported to have $25 million.
It’s possible Wynonna Judd has the least money due to issues she has had with spending in the past. "I had an Elvis complex. I had to buy Harleys and cars. I bought my mom a bus," she told ABC News. Judd worked with a residential treatment center for money disorders in the 2000s. She explained that they hit the message home to her about her spending habits by drawing a picture of her farm and showing how much of it she would have to sell in order to clear her debt. They showed her how much land would have to be sold for 2003, 2004, and so on. “And by the time we got to 2010 or something,” she told ABC News, “I had no more land left.”

Does Wynonna Judd own any property?
Thanks in part to her spending rehab, Wynonna Judd still owns considerable amounts of land. All three Judds own land very close to each other about an hour outside Nashville. A local Tennessee site says the Judd family farm is 1,000 acres. Naomi Judd called the area “Peaceful Valley” when she gave Oprah Winfrey a tour in 2016. “Ashley lives right up over that hill, right up the road,” she said “And then Miss Wynonna lives right over that hill.” Naomi said she timed it, and it took her one minute to get to Ashley’s house, and six to get to Wynonna’s.
Wynonna Judd gave her first televised interview after her mother died from her Kentucky farm. Also on the estate is the family car from Wynonna’s childhood. "My mom used to give me the grocery list and send me to the store, by myself in this car at 13," she told CBS News.
Does Naomi’s estate affect Wynonna?
Wynonna’s mother Naomi Judd died by suicide on April 30, 2022—just days before the duo was set to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. According to Page Six, Naomi’s widower Larry Strickland was named sole executor of her will, reported to be around $25 million. This will was done in 2017, saying that Strickland has “full authority and discretion” over any property that is an asset to her estate, and that he should receive “reasonable compensation” for his services.
Wynonna was reported to be upset that she was left out of the will, because she “believes she was a major force behind her mother’s success.” A source claims Wynonna believes her sister Ashley conspired with Strickland to keep Wynonna out of the inheritance. Wynonna denies all these claims of fighting and feuding. “Fighting over what?” Wynonna responded to People. “I have such a great life. Ashley has a great life. Why would we be fighting over the will?”
According to her, Ashley and Wynonna are content to “split” the estate after Strickland dies. "I am the last person in this family—and if Ashley was here, I'd hope she'd agree with me—who knows stuff like this," she told People. "I'm not savvy enough to go, 'I'm going to contest the will.' It never occurred to me."
What did the Judds make in their heyday?
The Judds were some of the most popular and best selling country artists of the 80’s and 90’s—a time when country was crossing over into mainstream pop radio. Artists like Garth Brooks and Faith Hill were getting play on Top 40 stations. While not enjoying the same Hot 100 success as those crossover artists, the Judds still had quite the place on the Billboard Country Charts.
The Judds signed with RCA/Curb and put out their first EP in 1984. When they first came out, they were the most successful duo in country music history, according to PBS. Between 1984 and 1991 they had a string of 14 number 1 singles for RCA. In 2003, CMT reported that the Judds signed with Mercury Records.

How does Wynonna Judd make money beyond recording?
A large chunk of Wynonna’s change comes from touring. Naomi and Wynonna were set to go on a reunion tour when Naomi died. In honor of her late mother, Wynonna went on tour with herself and special guests like Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, and Brandi Carlile. “I think it's important to do it, if that makes sense,” she told CBS News. “I feel like I have my marching orders."
Beyond recording and performing music, Wynonna Judd has had some acting and spokesman gigs over the years. She voiced a molecule named Molly Cule in an episode of The Magic School Bus, and guested on three episodes of Touched by an Angel, per her IMDb. In 2009, Wynonna was the spokesperson for weight loss pill/program Alli for an undisclosed amount.
Wynonna is also serving as Mega Mentor on The Voice Season 25 where she's helping hopeful stars perfect their performances. Her fee hasn't been released but we assume it made the appearance worth her time.
