CowPies Pizza Co., others to join The Peach Cobbler Factory in new Warner Robins plaza

A dessert shop new to Middle Georgia, a popular locally-owned pizza place, a fast-growing wing franchise and a full-body waxing studio are all coming to a new Warner Robins retail plaza.

Central Retail Plaza, at 840 Ga. 96, will feature all four places and is expected to be completed in about a month, said owner Roger Patel.

There’s more space available in the venue — more than half of the 18,500-square-foot center has been leased. Some of the shops already have started build-out.

Here’s a quick look at some of incoming businesses that have already leased space in the plaza:

The Peach Cobbler Factory — Billed as a one-stop dessert shop, this new spot will offer cobbler, cinnamon rolls, banana pudding, milkshakes, cookies, brownies, Belgian waffles and churro sticks. The desserts come in a variety of flavors. The dozen flavors of cobbler come with the option of adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Classic original, red velvet and bourbon pecan are among the 13 choices of banana pudding. The new shop has started its build-out and may open by late August/early September, according to its Facebook page.

CowPies Pizza Co. — Known for its quirky name and specialty pies, this busy Warner Robins pizza spot is opening a second location in the new plaza. Specialty pies include the cowboy pizza with white sauce, steak, mushrooms, green peppers and onions. Other customer favorites include smoked wings with mango habanero or kickin’ bourbon sauces and desserts, such as cowboy cookies and cheesecake brownie stromboli. The menu also includes “cowzones,” pizza bowls, salads and sandwiches. The first location at 6001 Watson Blvd. in a shopping strip at the corner of U.S. 41 and Ga. 247 took off by word of mouth and social media.

TouchDown Wings — This fast-growing wing restaurant chain that started in the Atlanta area will open its third Warner Robins location in the plaza. Touchdown Wings is best known for its wings with 30 sauce offerings as well as Philly cheesesteaks, hamburgers, fried fish and fried rice. Three popular wings sauces are #18 lemon pepper, #2 juicy cajun garlic and #24 garlic parmesan.

TouchDown Wings was born out of the popularity of wings at a Chinese restaurant in downtown Atlanta that spiked during Super Bowl Sunday. TouchDown founder Jay Yang and his partner Jeremy Lin decided to open a restaurant that focused primarily on wings and later expanded with additional food options. When the first TouchDown wings opened, they closed Hong Kong City, which was in business from 2013-17 in downtown Atlanta.

Natural Touch Body Bar — Alisha and Jessica Morris-Kent are moving from Jacksonville, Alabama, to Warner Robins to open a second location of their full-body wax studio in the plaza. Jessica, who used to teach school at Feagin Middle, said they chose the location because she was familiar with Warner Robins and because the area is rapidly growing. The new location won’t offer as many services as their first.

In addition to waxing, the Warner Robins location will offer electrolysis and vajacial services. They expect to open the last week of August before Labor Day.

Also, a smoothie place is expected to go into the plaza, while an Asian restaurant is considering moving in, according to Patel.

Two buildings comprise the plaza with a combined total of 13 retail spaces. Most are 1,200-square-feet, but there are some larger ones also. Also, retailers can combine spaces. Two of the spaces each have a drive-thru suitable for restaurants.

“The area is growing … the demographics are good,” Patel said.
