Cozy Up With These Deliciously Healthy Snacks

It’s always a good time for a snack, especially if you’re pregnant and seemingly ravenously hungry all.the.time. Given that, that’s me at the moment I’ve started to fancy myself somewhat of an expert in the snack department.

Here’s a look at delicious snacks with “clean” ingredients list – most of which you’ve probably never heard of – to satisfy all those salty and sweet winter-time cravings.

  1. Carrot Chews

    Carrot Chews

Smartsweets must have been recently reformulated (whyyyy??) because they were my go-to when I had gummy cravings - I now find them inedible, which is why I'm ecstatic to have discovered Carrot Chews. They're "gummy bears" made of carrots - but they actually taste like gummies! I was sure "carrots" was just being used as a marketing ploy, but they are in fact the first ingredient listed.

  2. Spudsy

    Spudsy

Spudsy Sweet Potato Puffs and Fries are vegan, gluten-free, kosher, non-GMO and so good I may or may not have eaten the whole bag of their "cheese" variety in one sitting.

  3. Hungry Bird Eats

    Hungry Bird Eats

I loooove these crackers from Hungry Birds Eats. They taste so clean and fresh you wouldn't think they came from a box. They taste homemade in the best possible way. My 17 month old toddler loves them too, which is great because they're not only free of icky ingredients but high in fiber.

  4. Lattini

    Lattini

Lattini is leading the way in the trendy milk of the moment: sunflower milk. I love their Unsweetened option both with cereal, in my capucino and even on its own (a weird pregnancy craving of mine is drinking non-dairy milk...). The ingredients couldn't be better - just water and organic sunflower seeds - zero yucky fillers.

  5. Sunbutter

    Sunbutter

Sunbutter is a great option for on-the-go now that they have individual pouches. I go for the no sugar added option and spread it on green apple slices.

  6. Small Town Cultures

    Small Town Cultures

Now that I'm pregnant again and finally out of the nausea phase where I ate nothing besides carbs, cheese and butter, I'm focusing on nourishing my growing belly. Small Town Cultures makes it so easy with their yummy fermented options. I love mixing these in with my daily salad. Their fermented, probiotic-rich foods add a ton of flavor for very few calories. The only downside is they're relatively high in sodium.

  7. Guiltless by Shayne

    Guiltless by Shayne

Guiltless by Shayne makes low calories mini cupcake/muffins - just 50 calories per mini muffin. The only downside is they are best kept in the fridge and some have a distinct artificial sweetener taste.
