The Cozy New Trader Joe’s Dessert That Shoppers Are Making a Special Trip to Get
Trader Joe's
Fan-favorite grocery chain Trader Joe’s is truly a culinary playground. It offers such an array of goodies that you’d be hard-pressed not to walk out with something you’ve never had before. With all of the options lining the grocer’s shelves, it’s almost impossible to come home with anything that’s just “average.”
From time to time, Trader Joe’s gives familiar items its signature upgrade, and even something that’s decidedly familiar becomes the perfect canvas for something even more incredible. As we draw nearer to the holidays and huddle around the Christmas tree, traditional desserts like fruit cake, figgy pudding and gingerbread resurface. And when executed properly, each dessert is a sensory delight, enticing your taste buds to go on a flavor excursion.

Delicious as they can be, however, these long-standing culinary mainstays often leave a bit to be desired and end up being relegated to nothing more than a doorstop (sorry, grandma.) Fortunately, Trader Joe’s has the answer to creating a showstopping, cozy holiday dessert that grandma would be proud of — and it requires little to no effort on your part.

Hiding in their legendary freezer section is a box of Pretzel Bread Pudding cups and shoppers are calling the find “…delicious!” Each box contains two individually portioned cups of decadent bread pudding made with salty soft pretzel pieces, baked in a rich egg custard and topped with a spoonful of rich salted caramel sauce.
One box will only set you back $4.49 and with the limited availability of the item in question, you’ll definitely want to stock up while you can. Aside from being incredibly delicious, whipping one up only takes a quick pass in the microwave or oven and the only thing left is to top with ice cream and enjoy.

News of the sweet treats launch made the rounds on the Trader Joe’s subreddit and shoppers went wild. “I will probably make a special trip for this,” commented one person. “Too good to be true ????” said another impressed user.
Thankfully, OP meowxpurr offered some insight into the flavor. “The soft pretzel is much more prominent in the texture than the taste! The buttery salted caramel is definitely doing the heavy lifting flavor-wise.”
As a sweet and salty connoisseur myself, I’ve already started calculating how many boxes I’ll need to make it through the rest of the year. But if you’re not a fan of sweets, TJ's has you covered there, too.
