Tomatoes are one of the healthiest foods out there, but it seems they have another talent no one knew about.

Reddit user, Rednaxelanoj, posted a photo of a tomato he found in his garden. Like many other appetizing tomatoes, it was round, plump and ready to enjoy. In the center of it though was a marking that made it one of the most popular images on Reddit and Imgur.

According to the gardener, the tomato "got a crack and stitched itself." What's happening here? A fellow Redditor with a green thumb tried to explain. "As the tomato fills with water, due to unbalanced breeding and [weather] conditions, a tear forms. Every time it stops, the cells in the skin, which are where most of the differentiated cells in the tomato come from, produce woody or phloem tissue to stop the wound."

Regardless of what is actually going on in the photo, the Internet ate it up anyway. In less than 24 hours, the image got over two million views. It got so popular, Rednaxelanoj posted this video featuring the red fruit and said to it, "You're famous, dude!" He also wrote in the video caption, "Wow...Reddit is awesome...I don't think I can ever eat this tomato now."
