The dining rooms of restaurants are still closed down for safety precautions, but many are still providing for their communities in any way they can. Some places are still fulfilling to-go orders, others are opening up markets for groceries, and now Cracker Barrel, for example, is starting a program called "There's Comfort in Giving."

There's Comfort in Giving is a campaign that will donate meals to pay it forward to healthcare workers fighting on the frontlines of the current pandemic. The goal is to donate around 5,000 meals in the next few weeks in partnership with Sony Music Nashville.

If you're a loyal Cracker Barrel fan and have been missing your local old country store, there is still a way for you to get involved in the campaign. When customers give the virtual gift of a homestyle meal to someone, which comes in a gift card-like message, Cracker Barrel will give a meal to a frontline worker. Additionally, through May 12, with every other $10 in Cracker Barrel e-gift cards, the company will donate another meal to healthcare workers.

The donations will go to HCA-affiliated hospitals including those in Dallas, Houston, Tampa, Orlando, and Nashville. Vice President of Marketing for Cracker Barrel Jeff Sigel said in a press release how proud he is of the program.

"We're humbled and honored to provide meals to those on the frontlines working so hard to protect us," he explained: "Thanks to a great partnership with Sony Music Nashville, we're pleased to invite guests and fans to pay it forward."
