The ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Bridesmaid Dress Is Now Available for Purchase
Now you can channel the Crazy Rich Asians wedding without having your entire bridal party walk through water. Fans of the film adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s bestselling novel will be pleased to discover that the bridesmaid dresses from the movie are now available for purchase—without a crazy rich price tag.
In the movie, the maid of the honor in the film wears a beaded gown by Adrianna Papell, which is comprised of an embellished mesh stretch knit fabric that falls from the top of the shoulder down the floor. Suitable for black tie occasions and evening weddings, the dress includes a soft skirt silhouette and spaghetti straps to provide even an element of comfort for your wedding party.

The beaded blouson gown is available in both regular and plus sizes ranging from $300 to $379. Color options include taupe, silver and navy.
Crazy Rich Asians costumer designer Mary E. Vogt previously opened up to The Knot about the fashion featured across the film with one of the most fascinating points being styles to suit the water aisle in the wedding scene.
Considered one of the highlights of the film, the “royal wedding of Asia” between Araminta Lee (Sonoya Mizuno) and Colin Khoo (Chris Pang) was shot at the historic CHIJMES church in Singapore. Viewers were treated to a greenhouse-inspired ceremony space complete with an aisle that fills with water and hanging firefly-like lights that illuminate the space as the bride makes her way down.

Vogt specifically had a gown created for ballerina Mizuno, who plays the bride. “We did, like, a sheer jumpsuit that was embroidered and had Swarovski crystals and all kinds of things,” she said of the piece by Carven Ong. “It was designed to show off Sonoya, to show off the actress, because not many people could wear a dress like that. You have to be really strong to walk through water like that, with a soaking wedding dress.”
The bridesmaids who trailed her were tasked equally with the same feat, though their respective gowns weighed far less. Overall, the fashion in the film was supposed to convey an effortless elegance.
“It’s really about having a good time and having fun, and we tried to make the clothes look like no one overthought them,” she told us this summer. “I just wanted to show everyone having a great time and being spontaneous.”
