RANDOLPH – Two teachers took their passion for the youth and turned it into a thriving party rental business during COVID, The Adventurous Playground.
Erika Barros and Jo Jo Barros are not your typical couple. By day, they enrich the minds of the next generation as teachers for the Boston Public Schools and on the weekends, they make birthdays and fun occasions special.
Their business, The Adventurous Playground, launched in 2018 but didn't take off until 2020.
"We love children. I'm a physical education teacher, and my wife is a kindergarten teacher. We want to create an indoor playground in the future for kids to have fun but also feel safe," Jo Jo said.
The Adventurous Playground is a Randolph-based party rental business where they will come to your place and build an elaborate setup for your child. From ball pits to bounce houses, foam parties and soft play packages, to virtual reality rollercoaster simulators and more, the duo can create an unforgettable experience.
They have booked 90 parties this year and counting.
The couple hopes to one day open a playground for kids to play.

Each party is unique to the customer
Right now, the couple is building their clientele and decorating parties that are unique but filled with bold activities.
"With our curated selection of interactive experiences and commitment to safety, cleanliness, and pure enjoyment, we're here to create joyous memories that last a lifetime," Jo Jo said.
As a customer, you can choose between five packages, the smallest dubbed the mini and the largest being the lux.Packages start as little as a 4x4 setup to the largest, a 20x20 setup.
The packages allow you to customize your kid's playpen, climbers, giant slides, balls, ladder, mechanical merry-go-round, and other accessories.
One of the most popular services they offer is the snuggle station, a device that allows you to build your own plush toy and even put a voice recording inside it.
The business prides itself on the uniqueness of its creation and bringing good vibes to any party.
